front side speeds

Fastest time of the day was 147mph by Mark with the RCRCM DG600

I'm sure we can all see how this will soon end in mass model destruction....updates to follow!

Quite possibly the most impressive scratch built scalie in the UK!
Congratulations Simon!

Jim starts the day by stress testing one of Barry's wings

The 5 metre Fox is eating up the sky for breakfast, dinner and lunch, and still has
room for a second helping of pudding!

The only consolation to be had from the recent lack of flying is a recent lack of crashes.
In the mean time, let's enjoy someone else's misery....

tabby tandem

here comes the Hun

Very little flying of late mostly due to shocking weather. And get this....when it does happen, the hallowed turf is being polluted by the noise of spinning propellers.

beating a quick one off over the Spitfire......and who can blame him!
perhaps the caption should read 'trouser snake spits on Spit'

'now listen here you couple of Johnny Foreigners, Her Majesty owns the sky round these parts
so you both jolly well bugger off back to whence you came'

....actually it's the glider that owns the sky round here, so get that wrinkled nose
and prop of yours to drag you back home, there's a good chap!

Wye so misty

What better slot for a half hour work meeting than at 4pm.....especially when it takes place within half a mile of a flyable hill!

The only fly in the ointment is the mist that keeps rolling in over the ridge. As we all know, trying to keep a model in sight whilst drifting in and out of the clag adds an element of excitement to any sloping sortie, so it's time to man up, toss off and squint hard!

rigging on a rig

An interesting aside from the usual crop of slender bodied F3F machines is Mr Phillips' latest acquisition. The moulds were constructed about a decade or so ago on an oil rig in the North Sea and only recently has a run of models been pulled from them.

Lovely retro lines and interesting little sub-fin arrangement, it's even got a late eighties inspired colour scheme!

the shape of things to come...

It would appear that summer has shuffled off into hibernation for its annual 51 week slumber. Bring on the misery of cold damp England, and just in case you can't quite recall what that's like, here are a few shots from New Year's Eve Eve 2012...
